[MITgcm-devel] once again: ctrl + obcs

OK, I agree, I didn't think of that possibility. In that case the "ALLOW_PACKUNPACK_METHOD2" needs to be revised and the CTRL_UNPACK_PRECISE introduced into ctrl_set_unpack_xyz.F

Still the entire construction is a little error prone, isn't it? On the other hand, who will use this without knowing what she/he is doing anyway?
Maybe there should be something like
#ifdef CTRL_PACK_PRECISE
# define CTRL_UNPACK_PRECISE
#endif
in CTRL_CPPOPTIONS.h with some explanatory comments? I can do that, if you think that this is a good idea.

Currently this is the case for ALLOW_PACKUNPACK_METHOD2 defined (introduced by Gael, right?), but not for the "old packing method" (when ALLOW_PACKUNPACK_METHOD2 is not defined), where it is possible to set the flags CTRL_PACK_PRECISE and CTRL_UNPACK_PRECISE inconsistently. I think this part is wrong.

It looks like someone has just used copy and paste to create the latter files an replaced all "pack" with "unpack". I do not think that this will work and suggest removing everything related to this flag in the obcs-related routines (_yz/xz).
