No,
it's simply ability to use adjoint of both seaice and ptracers together.
But a similar issue (simple to resolve) will occur down the road,
once a ptracers-like code is used for seaice.

Incidentally, I suspect that for this code,
we would change from 3-D to 2-D "ice-tracer" fields?
