My guess is that this is due to a division by zero, in the derivative of atan2(x,y)
when (x,y)=(0,0).  I attach a modified version of the routine with a fix.

Before we check the modif in CVS, 
could you give it a go on dickens to be sure?

Regarding those experiments, I see that e.g. in input_ad/data we have
 HeatCapacity_Cp = 3986.D0
 rhoNil          = 1027.D0
 rSphere         = 6371.D3
       500., 500., 500., 500., 500., 500., 500.
with no comma at the lines end. Is this ok?
