[MITgcm-devel] problems with TAF Version 1.9.39

Hi Ralf,

not sure if the MITgcm setup is still part of your test suite
before releasing a new version.

TAF version 1.9.39 causes problems for a fairly
straightforward case.
TAF does not generate adjoint code for S/R READ_REC_XY_RS
(contained in file pkg/rw/read_rec.F)
although it's part of the list of routines to be differentiated.

That routine is called, for example in S/R external_fields_load
and TAF generates adjoint call to adread_rec_xy_rs
in adexternal_fields_load.

As a consequence, almost all our test cases fail.
Everything is fine for TAF version 1.9.38.
A bit unfortunate that this occurs just as we start our
little course here at MIT.
Could this be fixed quickly, or otherwise, just for this week,
revert to 1.9.38 as the default.
