Patrick,
Are you sure you wanted to do this like this? The new files break my  
code, because the file
AUTODIFF_OPTIONS.h is not found (because I don't use the autodiff pkg  
in my experiment).

Don't these files belong in pkg/autodiff?
or should the statement
#include "AUTODIFF_OPTIONS.h"
be within #ifdef ALLOW_AUTODIFF_TAMC?
