Martin and Jinlun, a short update on problem that I was having with 59c. The
problem seemed to be caused by some weird combination of ocean and sea ice
initial conditions, which caused some full-ocean-depth and sea-ice interaction
instability in the integration. Small random changes made this instability go
away or not. Thus it was not directly related to ZMIN, except in so far that
this change was sufficient at times to remove the instability. The solution for
time being is to restart from climatological initial conditions and hope that
this instability will not reappear. Starting from PHC January initial
conditions, I am now able to integrate stably, including all the latest bells
and whistles in the code, i.e., useRealFreshWaterFlux, os7mp advection,
salinity-dependent freezing point, salt retention in the ice, and multicategory
ice. Dimitris
