i can look at this a  bit if you tell
me what cron job is supposed to make 
stuff web-accessible. is it 

  eddy:/var/spool/cron/edhill 

  30 23 * * *  cd /u/edhill/local/bin/MITgcm/tools && cvs -q up -d -P
  15 0  * * *  /u/edhill/local/bin/test_lcs_fc5
  05 16 * * *  cd /scratch2/edhill/build_web && ./quick_build > qb.log 2>&1

or do you refer to something else ?
