Hi Patrick,

OK, checkpoint56 one is gone and a new checkpoint58 tarball has been
created.

Could we instead encourage people to use CVS and make it policy to
create a new tarball when ever we make a new checkpoint tag?  The stuff
in CVS is, on occasion, broken as are the contents of the daily
"snapshot" tarballs that I create at:

  http://mitgcm.org/download/daily_snapshot/

And the place where all these files are located:

  /u/httpd/html/download/

is owned by "gcmpack" so everyone with CVS check-in permissions can
update them.  Is that a reasonable compromise?
