Hi Jinlun, what do you mean by "relatively longer time step" and by "smaller 
time step" in your reply to Matt?

Matt, I take back what I said in previous e-mail.  I "have" tried higher 
resolution sea-ice model, at 1/8 and 1/16th global.  That was some time ago.  I 
did not look at sea ice output in detail but it did not blow up.  Formulation 
for these two integrations was the older B-grid, ocean decoupled from ice.
