Hi folks,

I think I've found the cause of the slowdown today and its not the
network.  There is a substantial IO load on orwell, our main authors NFS
server.  Everything on the /u disk (which includes our web pages, CVS,
and home directories) is moving at a crawl.

And things not on the /u disk are fine.
