Martin,

  If your systems people don't want to allow outgoing connections to 2401
(pserver port)
  then this page has some long-winded instructions on how to tunnel 2401
through
  ssh
  http://www.cycom.co.uk/howto/cvssshtunnel.html
  However, it needs you to have an account at the CVS server machine which
defeats the purpose a bit!

  it would be better to get 2401 un-blocked.
