Well I seem to have been screwed - fortunately I had set-up a second account
and it didn't have a password so I've been able to copy all my data over -
BTW, "MOM" didn't work. My confidence in Microsoft has been shaken. I did
just discover that you can make a forgotten password by-pass floppy!!

I think that's a new security feature.
They have been implementing similar systems on all the big supercomputers we
use at NCAR, NASA and GFDL.
The basic idea seems to be that if nobody can log in and do anything then
the sys admin staff know the computer is safe from hackers.
