Hi Ed,

I ran your script, and there's some improvement, 
but now, after apparent successfull login,
I am getting
sea% cvs -n update
cvs server: cannot open /u/u0/gcmpack/.cvsignore: Permission denied
cvs server: Updating .

Could this be due to the 1000 or so recent
commit mails from Alistair?
