[MITgcm-devel] proposal: replace gforge (dev.mitgcm.org)

Hi folks,
Red Hat 9 is no longer supported so its time to upgrade the machine
serving mitgcm.org. I'm going to build a Fedora Core 2 system to
replace it.
I'll migrate all the popular services (web server, email lists, CVS
pserver, ViewCVS, Wiki, ...) but would like to make one change. I'd
like to dump GForge and save our in-progress GForge content (that is,
the text descriptions of the unfinished tasks) within a Wiki or a
similar Plone-based site. And, optionally, install bugzilla. Either
way, I think ideas would be more accessible and useful than the current
GForge which seems too cumbersome [1] to continue maintaining.
So are there any objections? Or suggestions of a better way?
Ed
[1] A search of our GForge site shows no activity more
recent than Dec 2003.
