Hi Chris,

I spent a few hours compiling netcdf libs for both the cluster and the
authors network. The results are available at:

  cg01 :  /usr/local/pkg/netcdf/netcdf-3.5.1/
  authors :  /usr/local/pkg/netcdf/netcdf-3.5.1/

and I've added an "LDADD" variable to genmake2 so that one can specify
link directories with something like

  LDADD="-L/usr/local/pkg/netcdf/netcdf-3.5.1/libs/ifc-5.0"

within the "optfiles".

I've also noticed that some versions of some compilers don't work
properly on some of the systems (eg. ifc-5.0.1 on shelley). With so
many glibc versions on the authors network, its messy. At least the
cluster is more consistent.

And I'll try to come up with some way of having genmake2 auto-magically
find the right netcdf library.

Ed
