[MITgcm-devel] Problems with diagnostics package and mnc

Hi,

Why don't we discuss this with every-one in the same room ?

Otherwise, there is at least one thing that is clear to me,
is that the iteration number should be somewhere in the MNC file
(it's presently in the .meta file, + in the file name with MDSIO)
it's clear what the iteration number is, and I don't see why it 
should be removed.

It's seems to me that many arguments in favor of the solution 
we have now (T=iteration number) are not going to be considered.

For example this one:

I start a run with deltaT=12s and run 10.it but 
it blows up shortly after. I restart from there
with deltaT=11s.
easy: I just have to specify nIter0=10 !

now, I want to see the time evolution of 1 variable for the full
run; If T stays the iteration, no problem.
If T is the model_time, it's really hard to put together the 
2 set of output (they overlap).

I could have tried to set startTime=120s, but the problem is
that 120s is not a multiple of 11s !
