Hi Patrick & other MNC users,

I just checked in a first cut at creating CF-style coordinate variables.
I'll add some more fixes over the weekend since it has two outstanding
problems:

 1) the "X" and "Y" directions are currently meaningless 
    when using cubesphere grids -- they need to be turned 
    into indicies in those cases
 2) the "iter" variable should be re-named "T"

But with this step we're getting closer to CF-compliance.

And as always, well-documented MNC bug reports are very much
appreciated!  ;-)
