[MITgcm-devel] netcdf, specifying paths

Here comes my stupid question for the week (I hope).
With a fresh copy of MITgcm, suddenly, neither with g77 nor f77 on SUN,
nor with ifort on Linux I can get genmake2 to recognize that I have
netcdf.
In the respective build_options-files that I use I put lines like:
INLCUDES='-I/path/to/where/my/netcdf/is/include'
LIBS='-L/path/to/where/my/netcdf/is/lib -lnetcdf'
I make sure that the libraries and include files are there and still
get the message that:
"Can we create NetCDF-enabled binaries... no"
does anybody else have this problem recently?
just runing testreport works because the netcdf libs for g77 on Linux
are in a default location that does not need to be specified explicitly
in a build options file.
