Hi folks,
I installed the "free non-commercial" Intel v8.0.034 Fortran 77/90/95
compiler along with a compatible version of the NetCDF library on the
authors network at:
/usr/local/pkg/intel/intel_fc_80/bin/ifort
and its soft-linked from /usr/local/bin for your convenience. The
corresponding MITgcm optfile ("linux_ia32_ifort") has also been updated.
The Fedora machines tested [forge (FC2) and hemmingway (FC1)] were both
able to build and run verification/exp0 with ifort and the NetCDF output
appeared to be just fine. I did not test ifort with any of the older
(eg. RH 9 or earlier) systems since their days are numbered.
So please give it a try and report any problems.
Ed
