Hi Chris,
OK, heres a compromise:
head -100 Makefile > $CDIR/Makefile_head
It tells us about the name of the optfile used and most of the compiler
and flag info. It also keeps the email small. I've found that beefy
emails (1--3+ Meg) get silently dropped by some email systems.
