Task #34 has been updated.
Project: MITgcm
Subproject: code development
Summary: Three dimensional online float advection coding
Complete: 0%
Status: Open
Description: The current float package keeps floats on a horizontal level (constant k). It would be nice to have a three dimensional float capability. Some code fragments and place holders are in the flt package for this. But the code is not currently complete.
Following e-mail from Arne describes where things are at the moment.
Hi Chris,
that's wishful thinking...
Although "in principle" everything should be there, some modifications
have to be done, e.g. the replacement of kpart (vertical level where the
floats resides) by zpart (a real depth information). However,
modifications affect only the core of the code and not the complicated
parallelization.
Currently I don't have time to finish and test that feature, but I am
willing to advise and help.
Ciao,
Arne
