Hi Ed,

Just one thing to clarify:
a) I don't think anything needs to be changed regarding
initialisation and reading pickup (except for CD-CODE, 
because the reading step is not done in a dedicated S/R => TAF problem).
b) regarding the writing of pickup, there is a good reason 
why it's done in WRITE_CHECKPOINT (but it doesn't mean that we 
don't need to change it, although it's not the 1rst priority). 
What is slightly curious is that it doen't seem to be a kind a 
"standard" way to do the writing of a pickup for all packages 
(the argument list vary from one pkg to the other).
And also, I don't understand why the ptracer_write_pick is called
after the BEGIN_MASTER/END_MASTER / _BARRIER block ?

Anyway, if you take one of the pkg WRITE_PICKUP as an example,
(for instance LAND_WRITE_PICKUP), it should work.
