Hi Ed,

the genmake2 version which causes the problem is the latest

linux1:/home/psh/ecco/MITgcm> cvs diff -D now tools/genmake2
heimbach at mitgcm.org's password:
linux1:/home/psh/ecco/MITgcm>

B.T.W., it otherwise now works fine on the SGI.
