Jean-Michel, I will work on mdsio_readfield.F after lunch.  Sorry for
trouble.  The usesinglecpuio mod is from code we run at NASA AMES on the
big altices where it considerably speeds up integrations.  Before
checking in I tested on orion so that it's bit-compatible with old
globalfiles option and out of the way when you don't use the
usesinglecpuio code.  But maybe I did not check-in quite the right
thing.  I will take a look.
