poor handeling of PTRACERS_useGMRedi & PTRACERS_useKPP (with no equivalent 
flag for T & S) is prone to serious bugs, and rarely (never ?) tested.
Temporary fix (but trUseGMRedi & trUseKPP should be passed as argument).
